WMD's and Iraq

According to Senator Rick Santorum, we have found quite a few.

Sniped from the article
"Since 2003, Coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent," said an overview of the report unveiled by Senator Rick Santorum and Peter Hoekstra, head of the intelligence committee of the House of Representatives

Now contrary to popular belief, Weapons of Mass Destruction does not mean Weapons of MASSIVE Destruction, a WMD is a weapon that is Nuclear, Biological or Chemical in nature that targets in an indiscriminate manner.

It doesn't have to be a city destroying weapon capable of super-duper destruction.

Ok, that out of the way, I believe that there were much more "recent" weapons in Iraq, the only thing is we haven't found them yet, the weapons we have found are pre `91 weapons, and while Iraq was supposed to have destroyed these already, and wasn't supposed to have them in their possession, they are not the same weapons that the Administration but more importantly the Media "played up" to the American public.

These are not City breakers, they will not cause world wide pandemic, what they are are "tactical-terror" weapons, they are used in the shelling of Enemy positions and small towns and cities to cause fear and break the enemies will to fight.

These weapons, IMO, were justification enough for the invasion, regardless of what other factors may have been present.

It is also my Opinion that we went into Iraq the wrong way, what we did was akin to a local police or sheriffs office putting the exact date and time that they would hitting a local drug dealers house, And then knocking on the door for 15 min saying can we please come in while we hear the toilet flushing in the background and someone yelling "Just a minute!"

Any Recent WMD's that may have been in Iraq are either A) long gone or B) buried in the sand somewhere.

Ahh well I'm done for now, feel free to post any comments about this that you would like and I will try to get back to & respond to them as soon as I can.

Zombiecon `06!

Well, That was one long ass week, filled with lots of great memories and lots of fun.

And here is my offical After Action Report. I know I won't remember everyones name and If I mis-Identify you, just let me know so I can change it.

I left Tuesday around 2pm from West Palm Beach to drive to Tallahasse, the drive took me about 6 1/2 hours or so, and I got to Ashnacks house where we officially met at like 8:30ish. We sat and talked for a little bit just getting to know one another as we had only talked on the ZS forums before this. Anyways, we racked out and were up and on the road by 6`am to start our long ass trek.

Wednsday:

Long story short, this drive took for damn near ever getting from Tally to St Louis and we managed to do it in about 13 hours. Also have a CB radio is a great thing to have on the road because you can ask truckers to get out of the way and find out where the "Smokeys" are at.

We got to the Cabin at like 6 something pm, but it felt like 7 because of the time zone difference, and we were the first group there, Go Florida!!!!

After a little while El Dickman showed up and we (the 3 of us) decided we were gonna split some logs. Well, lets just say that this endevor didn't quite go as planned. we managed to get the tools stuck in the log and we spent 30-45 min trying to get them unstuck. Finally we just decided to go w/ smaller logs.

After a while the first "Big" group showed up and we started the nights festivities. Now here is something you have to understand, Zombiecon "Proper" is held on the side of a freaking mountain (well mountain to us Florida & flatland people) but the Wed. thing is held at the cabin which is on fairly flat land, realitively speaking of course.

Anyhoo, after everyone showed up and introductins were made all around we started unloading some of the gear from the trucks. That was right about when Will produced a nice bottle of Scotch which had been aged to perfection by being kept in an ammo can bolted to the side of his truck which sits in the sun for 1 whole year, and "Oh what a fine vintage it was". After passing around this bottle of pure sunshine and lettign everyone have a drink, we walked up and sat around the fire and just laughed and talked and had a good time.

As we were sitting around the fire, we started passing various medicinal beverages around, I believe there was a bottle of Jack, a "fresh" bottle of Jameson, 2 Flasks of some still unidentified beverage and Budweiser chasers. Very soon after I was hearing the call of the sandman and proceded to take a nap (please read that as passed out) but before I went to my slumber I do remember someone talking about getting a can of chili.

Thursday
I woke up (came to) in the wee hours of the morning to find people in various states of consienceness around the fire and I went to go get my sleeping bag out of my truck. Which I prometly layed down next to the fire and hopped (stumbled) inside and went to sleep.

We all woke up early in the morning maybe 6am-7am, I'm not sure the time as my cell phone died in the night, and we proceded to stir the ashes to the fire for a little bit and make some breakfast, mine consisted of MRE omlet which I suggest be burned and never eaten again. As we sat around comming to our senses we talked and chilled for a little while longer when we noticed we had an interloper, it was a dog. The dog was very skitish but after a while became friendly and would let us pet him. So the dog starts sniffing around camp and finds the Brownie boxie, because Grifters Mom made brownies for us "yea for Grifters Mom!!!" and the damn dog stole the lid to the tupperware that the brownies were in, and that fucker just up and took off w/ it, now granted none of us made much of an effort to stop the dog, we just thought it was too funny at the time.

Well then a bunch of other stuff happend, we loaded vehicles and gear and proceded to the campsite where we had to lug 89 bagillion metric tons of stuff up the side of that freaking slope, doing so while hung over = not much fun.

We finally got the gear up and mostly set up and finished by about noon time, and more straglers and late commers started showing up. The rest of this day is a blur to me, and I just remember having a good time and chilling out for the night.

Friday
Ahh woke up Friday morning w/ an energy I haven't had in hours :) cause Friday was Range day! Thats right folks the Zombie Squad was going Shootin. Now I have to say that this was supposed to be broken up into 2 groups.

Group 1: Range 1000-1200 Landnav 1400-1600
Group 2: Landnav 1000-1200 Range 1400-1600

Or somehting like that.

It ended up w/ Group 1 staying at the range all day, w/ group 2 joining us later.

Well we (group 1) got to the range enventually after getting turned around multiple times, luckily we had our handy-dandy FRS radios so Zombies 1-3 could keep in touch.

When we got to the range we set everything up and started our shooting. I shot everything I could, AK's, AR's, Glocks, Kel-Tecs, Bolt-Action Rifles, and 3 or 4 different shotguns. I shot more ammo that day then I think I have ever shot in my life, Including the M60 course I took in the Airforce.

But after, being at the range all day and in the hot sun, we started loading up the vehicles for the trek home (well back to the mountain) for a well needed wash up in Manbath. After dinner and the movie, which I believe was that jappenese one that has scared me for life, I couldn't keep my eyes open and stagard back to my tent to sleep like the dead.

Saturday
Float Trip day!!

What Can I say about this float trip, it was a blast, me and Jamoni teemed up in a canoe, both of us are fairly experianced canoe'ers and we enjoyed the suffering and fliping and beaching of the others. It was great we would race ahead and get past a rough spot, then park and watch the ineveitable piles ups that would happen w/ our less experianced boaters. Two things that stick out in my mind, of the whole float trip, First, Me and Jamoni rushing to the aid of a hot chick and then saying fuck it when we realized she was just waiting the dude she was with to come save her. And Second, was the car submerged in the water.

After the float trip, we went back to camp where the Hotdogs & Hamburgers were being cooked and the beer was flowing freely. I think we watched Shaun of the Dead that night and some other movies.

Sunday

Ahh Sunday, the day we have to pack up and lug stuff back down the mountain. After we got everything down we went back to the cabin to drop stuff off, where we then had a seminar on how to break into a car by the New Jersy crew, thanks guys. And breakfast at the "greasiest spoon dinner" I've ever been too where if they don't have it on the menu (and they don't/didn't have menus) they will take a trip to the store and buy everything you ordered and cook it right up for you, when you have like 20 something people... this can take a little while.

Lesons learned

1: Take less gear- most of the stuff I brought up the hill I didn't even come close to using.
2: Don't skimp on tents, I had a cheap little bivy shelter and It really didn't work out so well for me, that might just have been the slope I was on but, yeah, I'm bringing a bigger tent next year.
3: MRE's suck when people are eating steaks & burgers & kabobs
4: Camp Chairs+30 deg Slope= Fall over when drunk or sleepy, I'm bringing some ground stakes and 550 cord to tie my chair down and say Fuck you laws of physics.

Well thats it for now, I'm leaving out lots of stuff that I just now thought of but am too lazy to go back and add. I see I've said nothing of the Jagumonkeys or Elctrobermans or us blasting the mountain and using the resulting volcano for geo-thermal energy, and a million and 1 other things. This trip was awsome and I just want to thank everyone I met for being super cool, and making this one of the best trips ever, and I hope I can get to do this next year.

Zombie Squad Fuck Yeah!!!
